Adna Johnson's picture and note included with Daguerreotype of Adna Johnson: "Adna Johnson, second son of Barnabas and M A Hitchcock, his wife, was born in Southington 1797. He went South in 1818. He carried on wagon making a-while, had a dry goods store in Columbia, and 2 Plantations. He was living with his third wife and married sons and daughters and was a strong Union Man at the breaking out of the War" Included in the note in Susan Tyler Gladwin’s hand was "Written by his half sister, Mari Anna Johnson, who married Joseph Meniman."
